Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, a national law firm with offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, has announced that Brian M. Rothery has joined the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group as a partner.
'Brian is an important addition to our firm. In addition to his broad IP experience he will add considerable depth to our medical device and consumer products practice,' said Steven Pokotilow, co-chair of Stroock's Intellectual Property Practice Group.
Rothery joins Stroock from Jones Day's New York office, where he was a partner and co-chair of the Mechanical Technologies/Medical Device Group. Prior to Jones Day, he was a partner at Pennie & Edmonds LLP until 2003. He has litigated federal patent and trademark and state unfair competition and business tort claims for plaintiffs and defendants. Rothery's practice also includes counseling of clients on clearance issues and the development of international and domestic intellectual property portfolios.
Morrison & Foerster LLP has announced that the following patent attorneys were elected to partnership: Jason A. Crotty, resident in the San Francisco office, focuses his practice on intellectual property with an emphasis on patent litigation; Richard C. Kim, of the San Diego office, concentrates primarily on patent procurement and intellectual property litigation; Glenn M. Kubota, resident in the firm's Los Angeles and Orange County offices, specializes in patent prosecution, client counseling, and litigation support for high-technology clients; Scott F. Llewellyn, of the Denver office, practices in complex litigation before state and federal courts throughout the country, with an emphasis on patent disputes; M Andrew Woodmansee, resident in the San Diego office, focuses on patent litigation and has litigated patent infringement matters involving technology related to the semiconductor, biotechnology, medical device, and telecommunications industries.
