Jim Goniea has joined Wiggin and Dana LLP as a partner in the firm's Philadelphia office. Most recently, he was in-house counsel for AAMCO for six years. “My background and experience dovetails nicely with what Wiggin and Dana already do well,” Goniea said. “Wiggin and Dana simply has the right combination of quality, experience and competitive pricing to attract franchise and distribution clients. I am truly delighted to be joining Jack Dunham, Dean Fournaris, Bethany Appleby and the rest of the Wiggin and Dana team.”

Six new members were elected to the Board of Directors of the International Franchise Association. They are: Jania Bailey, CFE, president, FranNet Franchising, LLC; Charlie Chase, president and CEO, FirstService Brands, Inc.; Mitch Cohen, owner, Baskin Robbins/Dunkin' Donuts, Bayshore, NY; Gordon B. Logan, founder and CEO, Sport Clips, Inc.; Robert M. McDevitt, CFE, senior vice president, franchising, and chief franchise officer, Golden Corral Buffet & Grill; and Karen Powell, CFE, chief relationship officer, Franchise Source Brands International, and founder/CEO, Decor&You. Also, Aziz Hashim, president and CEO of multi-brand franchisee National Restaurant Development, was voted as new secretary. All new positions will become effective on Feb. 20, 2013.
