Anderson Kill & Olick, P.C. has announced the opening of a new office in Burlington, VT.

Marshall Gilinsky, a shareholder in the firm's Insurance Recovery Group will head the new office, which will focus primarily on insurance recovery, particularly on behalf of captive insurance firms in disputes with their reinsurance providers.

In addition to his work on behalf of captive insurance companies, Gilinsky's insurance coverage practice is focused on property insurance, commercial general liability insurance, professional errors and omissions insurance and directors' and officers' insurance. Much of his practice concentrates on obtaining full recoveries for complex property and business interruption insurance claims arising out of prominent catastrophes, such as 9/11 and Hurricanes Katrina and Irene and Superstorm Sandy.

William P. Shelley, a member of this newsletter's Board of Editors, has departed from Cozen O' Connor and has joined Gordon & Rees LLP to open G&R's Philadelphia office as its managing partner. Shelley will also serve as co-chair of the firm's Insurance Group.

The Newark, NJ office of K&L Gates LLP has added John P. Scordo as a partner in the firm's insurance coverage practice. Scordo joins K&L Gates from Day Pitney LLP.

Scordo counsels clients on liability, litigation, and insurance coverage issues involving privacy, data breach, and data protection. He has experience in complex insurance claims and coverage matters concerning many types of policies, including general and professional liability, directors' and officers', property/business interruption, fiduciary, environmental, employment, life/accident, media/publishers, and health and group benefits, among others.

A commercial arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Scordo is well-versed in the numerous insurance coverage issues impacting the financial services industry.

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has announced that David Grosgold and Marilyn A. Lion will become partners of the firm, effective July 1, 2013.

Grosgold and Lion are both based in the firm's New York office, and are members of the Corporate Department and the Financial Institutions Group. Grosgold's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, including transactions in the insurance industry, and insurance regulatory and corporate matters. Lion focuses on corporate transactions in the insurance industry, including mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions, as well as insurance and reinsurance regulatory matters.

Clyde & Co has announced the addition of insurance and reinsurance specialist Ian Roberts as a partner in the firm's Singapore office. He has been appointed to lead the non-marine insurance practice in South East Asia.

Roberts is an insurance coverage and liability defense lawyer with a focus on property, construction and engineering claims, FI and D&O risks, general liability, and political risk/trade credit matters. He has advised a wide range of insureds, including construction professionals, trustees, financial institutions, directors and officers, solicitors and accountants. He also regularly advises on the drafting of policy wordings.
