Barbara Goodstein of Mayer Brown LLP in New York has been named the 2015 Recipient of the Edward A. Groobert Award for Legal Excellence by The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA). Goodstein has been an active member of the ELFA for over a decade and is currently a member of ELFA's Legal Committee Subcommittee on Air, Rail and Marine. She served as a member of the association's Legal Committee from 2002 to 2004 and as a member of the ELFA Board of Directors from 2004 to 2007. She is also a member of this newsletter's Board of Editors.

Santander Bank, N.A. of Boston announced that Vincent Belcastro has been appointed group head of equipment finance. He will be responsible for growing the team and business focused on financing activities for equipment lending, leasing, and structured finance on a national scale. Belcastro formerly held management positions at CIT Group Inc., Citibank, Republic National Bank and Bankers Trust ( Deutsche Bank ).

First American Equipment Finance of Fairport, NY, has promoted Alan Sikora to Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds company founder Bill Verhelle, who is stepping down as CEO. This planned transition comes on the three-year anniversary of City National Bank's acquisition of First American. Verhelle will remain as a consultant to the company. Sikora previously served as president of First American.

Seabury Group of New York has formed Seabury Equipment Finance Group LLC (SEFG). The new company will provide multinational manufacturers across a broad range of industries with supplier-based finance solutions. SEFG will be lead by Christopher Lyle , president & CEO, and Justin P. Goheen, chief operating officer. Seabury, the parent company, is a global advisory, software and capital markets/asset management group with clients in Aviation, Aerospace & Defense, Government, Financial Exchanges and Financial Services, Insurance, IT/Software, Travel, Transportation and related industries.

The RVI Group of Stamford, CT, has promoted Michael P. McGroarty to executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. In addition to running the legal department, Mr. McGroarty is also responsible for RVI's Commercial Real Estate business.'He joined RVI in 2007 as SVP, general counsel and secretary and assumed responsibility for the company's commercial real estate business in 2011.

Sterling National Bank of Montebello, NY, has named Thomas X. Geisel as executive vice president and president of Specialty Finance. He will lead Sterling's specialty finance teams, which include Asset Based Lending, Factoring and Trade Finance, Payroll Finance, and Equipment Finance. Geisel was most recently the managing partner of Templar Ventures LLC, a New Jersey-based merchant bank that focuses on investing in privately held and growth-oriented small and middle market companies.

CoreTech Leasing, Inc. of Newport Beach, CA, has hired Chuck Dale as senior vice president of operations and syndications. Prior to joining CoreTech, Dale held senior management positions at global and Fortune 500 companies, including as senior vice president at Macquarie Corporate & Asset Finance , Comdisco and GE Capital .

CSI Leasing, Inc. ( CSI ) of St. Louis, MO, has announced that CSI Leasing Canada's Aaron Tanaka has been promoted to senior vice president. Previously vice president, Tanaka also currently serves as chief credit officer, head of treasury and assistant counsel for CSI Leasing Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of CSI Leasing. He has been with CSI Leasing Canada since 2003.
