As their commercial leases approach expiration and renewal, law firms are renegotiating the future of in-office legal work. For many, the "new normal" will feature an efficient floor plan that deemphasizes personal offices while paradoxically accommodating a growing attorney headcount.
For Manhattan-based commercial law firm Wilk Auslander, the move from its Viacom building location in Times Square, where it had been since 2011, to the 29th floor of One Worldwide Plaza, brought the firm's litigation and corporate practice closer to clients, while cutting down one-third of its office footprint space, said managing partner Jack Wilk.
Wilk said the newly leased office at 825 Eighth Ave. is a short distance from one of the region's major arteries, Grand Central Station, and it allows Wilk Auslander to maintain its presence in the Columbus Circle and Hell's Kitchen area of New York, near Rockefeller Center.
