Actor Alec Baldwin has detailed his account of the October 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Rust film production set in an arbitration demand in which he seeks indemnification from Rust Movie Productions LLC and producer Ryan Smith.
In the JAMS arbitration filing, Baldwin and his production company El Dorado Pictures are demanding arbitration to determine the amount of indemnification they say is owed to them by Rust Movie Productions and Smith under the parties "producer agreement."
Baldwin's March 2022 filing detailed his account of the "panic and confusion" that descended on the set after the gun's accidental discharge, when the revolver was used as a prop for the film by Baldwin during a rehearsal at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Bonanza Creek, NM, according to media reports and court filings. Several lawsuits have also developed in the wake of the incident.
