|Federal Protection: 15 U.S. Code Section 6851
The Stopping Harmful Image Exploitation and Limiting Distribution (S.H.I.E.L.D.) Act, codified at 15 U.S. Code Section 6851, provides protection against nonconsensual pornography. This federal law makes it illegal to knowingly distribute intimate visual depictions of an individual without that person's consent that depicts:
"(i) the uncovered genitals, pubic area, anus, or post-pubescent female nipple of an identifiable individual; or
