October 01, 2024

Latham & Watkins helped the largest U.S. commercial real estate research company prevail in a breach-of-contract dispute in District of Columbia federal court.

U.S. District Judge Christopher R. Cooper ordered a permanent injunction protecting the subscription-based commercial real estate database owned by CoStar Group Inc. He also awarded the plaintiffs $60,000 in damages plus $40,000 in attorney fees.

Tiltbot LLC, an affiliate of Texas-based Leon Capital Group, is liable for the alleged breach of contract, Cooper ruled Tuesday, finding the company accessed CoStar's LoopNet.com platform without authorization and extracted records in June 2021.
