The Best of MLF 2005: Looking Back at the 'Benchmark' Year

BY Elizabeth Anne 'Betiayn' Tursi
November 30, 2005

Well, it's been an exciting year here at Marketing the Law Firm. As with past practice, this month's issue will be a look back at the year that was. In this issue we will present February (the January issue recaps part of 2004) through July. The balance of the year will be completed in our January 2006 issue.

Hellos and Goodbyes

At the beginning of the year we introduced a new regular columnist. Steve Meyerowitz began in February with Meyerowitz on Marketing. For the first few months Steve's column alternated with Andy Havens' column A Haven for Straight Talk. I have known Steve for over 20 years and early on asked him to submit articles to MLF. The quality of Steve's articles is, of course, attributable to his depth of knowledge of our business, but it is also a testament to who Steve is and how he integrates his talent for writing with his business. Steve is President of Meyerowitz Communications Inc., a law firm marketing communications consulting company that works with some of the largest and most successful law firms in the country. Steve helps lawyers write, produce and place their bylined articles, newsletters, brochures, and other marketing materials, while at the same time integrating publications into a firm's overall marketing program.
