Last month, Cision released is 2020 State of the Media Report, which included a decade's worth of insight into media preferences.
For the past 10 years, Cision has surveyed thousands of journalists around the world to capture their insights and turned that information into annual trend reports. This year's report discussed past trends, including the rise of social media, "fake news" and distrust in the media, as well as more-current observations about the impact of the global pandemic on media communications.
The report included some useful insight and guidance for PR professionals when dealing with the media, including ways to build positive relationships with journalists and best practices for pitching.
